What happened? I woke up groggy, fog in my head. Want to leave now so lets quickly check the fluid levels. Not enough ATF in the transmission so adding a little. Ahhhh….too much not good. Let me take something out quickly with that old piece of hose and a syringe because I do not want to unpack the electric oil pump.

Then it happens…the piece of hose falls from the syringe into the transmission! Dammned….thats a NO GO today. I realise that my mistake was the result of rushing after not sleeping well so I stop working. But the damage has been done. Shall I just ignore this happened and run the engine?

Nigel says: Stefan this has to come out, you will only damage the gearbox when you run it" I know Nigel is right.

Stuck in paradise…how to get that out? Can’t even see that piece of hose anymore as it is below the ATF fluid level. I dream about hoisting the engine again and unbolting and disassembling the gearbox. I shiver… After a few days I decide: lets take the ATF oil out first, maybe we can see something then.

This time no shortcuts, I carefully unpack and use the electric oil pump. Then make a small light that can be dropped into the hole.

need something that works like a fish hook to pull it out. This thin springy stainless wire might work
